How to use this guide:This guide is for iRO users and was completed on the Iris server. All names and places are accurate as of August   2006. Click on smaller screenshots to bring up a larger view of the location.

1. Your quest begins of course in Einbroch, a city you can reach by the airship from Juno or by moving south and west from Juno. The first thing to do in Einbroch is to find the Sick Old Man who is on the second floor of the inn (ein_in01)264,206.

        

2. Follow the conversation with the Sick Old Man until he is finished and then move to the train station in Einbroch and pay the 200z to visit Einbech.

   

3. Get off the train in Einbech and head to the stairs on your right, there you will see the Young Man (einbech) 55, 210. Talk to him, he'll tell you about an old man behind the pub.

   

4. Find the old man Buender Hikeman at (einbech) 167, 102 and engage him in conversation, choosing the following options:
   -"What are you talking about?"
   -"nothing..?"
   then talk to him again and respond:
   -"How did you survive the accident?"
   -"I'd like to apologize."
   By the end Hikeman will mention Shinokas, the reason you are here.

     

5. Head back to Einbroch using the train to speak with the Sick Old Man. He'll try to convince you his name is Shinotarous, but keep asking him the 3 questions over and over until (this took forever and I eventually settled on repeating the first question over and over again) he admits that he knew Hikeman and conceedes to tell you his story. Eventually he'll start talking about a mysterious ore and bring up his suspicions with the Kapellthaine family having some of them.
6. So now we head over to find the Kapellthaine family home in Einbroch (einbroch)126,230. Head inside but don't go near Megass or he will kick you out. If you can cloak good for you, otherwise keep as close to the left wall as possible and walk around him and head right to find the Maid (ein_in01)31,134 standing infront of a cabinet of dishes. Talk to her.

           

7. She hasn't heard anything, so we head back to Shinokas, that dick. He'll tell you to go investigate the Factory (einbroch)129,78. At this point, you're really starting to wish they allowed fwings in these towns.

   

8. Inside we find a guy named Zelmeto who is the factory "overseer" or supervisor. The only easy way I can think to find this guy is head straight foreward and to the right, you'll pass a guard named Khashurantz on the left, and a door on the right. Ignore the door, go straight for the stairs then follow them all around, hang a left once you're at the bottom and keep walking til you find Zelmeto (ein_01)66,244. Talk to him entering the following replies:
   -"You're understaffed?"
   -"I can help you."
   He'll then ask you to find the 2nd control panel.

   

9. Now begins the glorious task of running around the factory checking things for Zelmeto. First we find the 2nd Control Panel (ein_in01)46,230. Easiest way to get here is head back to where we entered the factory and go up left past the guy named Lowe.

   

   Head back to Zelmeto and he'll tell you go next inspect the "automatic pressure govenors" Go right from Zelmeto and enter the second right hallway, passing Tsuen on the left. Eventually you'll find the "3rd pressure govenor" (ein_in01)110,217 which is actually what he is referring to.

   

   Back to Zelmeto, he sends us on to a "control panel" which is actually the "main control panel" (ein_in01)63,256. Just move left from him and you should see it.

   Report to Zelmeto, he'll send you in search of a machine they have no name for, (great!). Best way is head back to the entrance, move foreward and to the right until you see Dorf and a moving yellow crane. Move the cursor until you see a "conveyer" (ein_in01)49,200 for me it was hidden beneath the stairs.

   

   Back to Zelmeto, now he sends us after a "pipe". Move left from him and down the hall past Zherin to find the pipe (ein_in01)100,265

   

   Back to Zelmeto and finally on to the "large conveyer". Go down the hallway just right of him, past Dinje to the yellow crane beside her. There we find the conveyer (ein_in01)89.235

   

10. Upon returning to Zelmeto he mentions asking his boss for money to spend on repairs, so we go outside to find him. Liotzburg (einbroch)129,84 is thankfully standing just outside. Apparently he'd rather buy cheeseburgers than repair his factory so back to Zelmeto!

    

11. This is where Zelmeto will ask you for 20 flexible tube, 10 Rusty screw, and 10 Used Iron Plate. You'll need those exact amounts or he won't take them, talk to him again and "give him materials".

    At this point i got about 2% EXP at level 74.

12. Return to Shinokas at the inn, try to resist your urge to strangle him, and talk to him until he asks where else you could investigate. Suggest the "laboratory" and he will agree and ask you to go there.
13. At the Research Laboratory (einbroch)54,52 step into the gate and it will ask you some questions, choose "identify" and then type exactly what you see listed in the colourful letters into the box. Good luck with this, as you have to get it in within 60 seconds, I squeaked by with 59.

      

14. Inside, speak to the scientist in the top left hand corner of the room. Speak to her and respond "What's wrong?" Also take a look at the "unknown stuff" if you like and then we're off to the airship (einbroch)64,202 to find the scientist's Drunken Boss.

         

15. Once you get on the airship, head to the exit to the right and go below deck, keep walking left towards the end of the ship once you're below and you will find an area with several gambling tables, at the top table is the Drunken Man (airplane)29,78

    

16. The man bets with apples, and there's an apple merchant nearby. He needs a minimum of 100 apples per try and unfortunately you need to keep giving him apples until he wins to continue this quest. It took me three tries, though it took my friend nearly fifteen. My best advice is continue with the minimum bet of 100 apples and don't go any higher to spare yourself money. Eventually he'll reveal his name to be Kurshenburg and you ask:
    -"So what was that about Ymri's heart?"
    Continue talking til he's done and now, we need to go back to find, you guessed it: Shinokas.
17. As you enjoy the flight back to Einbroch, reflect on all the time and money you've spent to make it this far, and hope that the EXP will be worth it in the end, hit on a few cute girls if they're around, or just run aimlessly in circles. Once back in Einbroch, return to Shinokas only to discover that someone beat you to murdering him for putting you through all this :(. When he asks you what you've discovered with his dying breaths type:
    - "The heart of Ymir".
18. When you're done with Shinokas, it's time to grab the train back to Einbech and find Buender Hikeman again. Tell him about Shinokas dying and he'll go on about the Heart of Ymir and then, EXP! I got about 15% myself and congratulations, you've finally completed the Einbroch murder quest! X3
